Against public opinion a wood house has many advantages over “classic” houses made of stone, brick or other materials:
It breathes, absorbs and expels humidity and regulates the interior environment.
It contributes to avoid rheumatism and respiratory diseases as the humidity is stabilized and the air is filtered and purified.
It is permeable to electromagnetic radiation contributing to a good health.
It absorbs wave energies so that acoustic contamination is reduced. Wood makes the house more silent so that the stress for the inhabitants is reduced.
It evades cold, brightness and hardness of other materials.
There are no limitations in regard to its possibilities of adaptation and flexibility: holes, lights, adaptation to the environment and enormous variety in fabrics, forms and colours.
Wood is compatible with all kind of construction materials by adding its special qualities.
In addition to the natural isolating qualities of the wood, these can be increased far more easy than in traditional systems, loosing less of the usable surface (high level of thermal and acoustic adjustment) and also the energy consumption is lower than in traditional systems. |
